BFAP embraces a multi-disciplinary approach when it comes to unpacking and analysing the key research questions and challenges faced by our clients. Although there are clearly defined fields of expertise in the BFAP network, it is the combination of these fields of expertise that provides a holistic approach whereby the key drivers and turning points in the complete food value chain are taken into consideration.
A combination of econometric, value chain and financial models form part of the BFAP modelling system. This modelling system provides the analytical backbone to gain a better understanding of interrelationships between key drivers and to generate future outcomes in the various food and agriculture industries.
The empirical evidence is packaged and supported by a combination of qualitative approaches involving scenario-thinking techniques that address the real world dynamics that fall beyond the scope of empirical models.
